This is the 7th state championship title for Caddo Magnet since the program began in 2008! Rebecca Hutchinson and Dakota Simpson placed in the top ten out of all 700+ students, which automatically qualifies them to the national tournament in Kentucky! Rebecca shot a 282, placed 1st overall in the high school division, and 3rd in the overall 264 female student division (all grades). She received a trophy for 1st place HS division overall male and female, a new bow for 1st place HS female, and a $500 scholarship for 3rd place overall female student division (all grades). Dakota shot a 281, received a trophy for 2nd place HS division overall male and female, a new bow for 1st place HS male, and recognition for fifth place in the overall 367 male student division (all grades). Additionally, Amir Kaskas placed 6th in the HS boys division, and Rose Bellamy placed 6th and Cara Armstrong placed 9th in the HS girls division.
Competition was fierce this year! We also got paired up with Benton HS, so all students were very nervous from both schools! Overall the archers did an outstanding job and I am very proud of our kids.
