Participation in community service is highly encouraged at Caddo Magnet High School for our students, faculty and staff. Most of our clubs and organizations have a community service component. While students record the hours completed in order to achieve the goal of receiving the Community Service Endorsement on their high school diploma, they also understand that we give back to the community because it is the right thing to do, and not because of “what it will do for me”. We call it “Walking the Walk”.
The Louisiana Department of Education changed the requirements for the hours needed in order to qualify for the Community Service Endorsement on the high school diploma. Students must still acquire a minimum of 80 service hours, but there is no longer a requirement for a certain number of hours to be completed for each year in high school.
