Caddo Magnet students did very well in the State Literary Rally held on April 1, 2017 at LSU in Baton Rouge. Two students, Kelsey Hightower and Nathan Speakes, were the overall winners for all divisions and will receive a $500 scholarship. Kelsey competed in sociology and Nathan competed in biology II.

Maureen Shacklette placed 3rd in health, Antares McCoy-Villaneda placed 3rd in physics, David Lu placed 3rd in computer science, Hayley Owens placed 4th in business computer applications, Phoebe Cragon placed 3rd in French III, and Chris Given placed 4th in world geography.
