Congratulations to the Caddo Magnet Quiz Bowl teams for taking 1st place at the Louisiana Quiz Bowl Association’s Fall Tournament at both the varsity and JV levels!

Coach Andrew Medlin and Coach Amanda Lawrence reported that the varsity “A” team, made up of Captain Lilah Estes, Sameer Tirumala, Henry Jones, and Andy Minagar, ended the day undefeated in eight matches to finish first, winning the final against Baton Rouge Episcopal by a 650-80 score.

The JV “C” team, which consists of Captain David Zhu, Alex Minagar, and Logan and Marshall O’Callaghan, finished a very strong 5-2 and won the JV title by defeating Jesuit’s C team 330-95.

The “B” team, made up of Captain Zoha Ibrahim, Grace Bodily, Will Brice, and Kenna Pettigrew, won its last three matches and finished 4-3, beating Dutchtown’s B team 570-50 in the final round.

Top Magnet scorers at the tournament for the day were Sameer Tirumala in 4th place, Andy Minagar in 7th place, Zoha Ibrahim in 9th place, Lilah Estes in 19th place, and David Zhu in 20th place.

With its performance, Magnet A team qualifies for Nationals in May for the third time this year!
