Caddo Magnet Honored as a US Department of Education Green Ribbon School

We are proud to announce that Caddo Magnet High School has been honored as a 2022 US Department of Education Green Ribbon School.

Across the United States, 27 schools are being honored for their innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, improve health and wellness, and ensure effective sustainability education. Caddo Magnet High is one of three Louisiana schools to receive this honor this year.

Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona stated, “This year’s U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools honorees have raised the bar for sustainability, healthy and safe school environments, and hands-on learning experiences that connect students of all ages to the world around them.”

At Magnet, the Greens Club, sponsored by Mrs Procell, works on- and off-campus to spearhead environmental service and stewardship. Our school is designated as a National Wildlife Federation Certified Schoolyard Habitat, and a Monarch Butterfly Waystation.

We are so proud of the strides our school is taking toward environmental sustainability, and we look forward to accomplishing even more in the future!
