►Remember: When you apply to a college, you can apply for scholarships at the various colleges. There is a difference in TOPS Scholarships and University based scholarships. Colleges may have specific scholarships applicable to you. Also: Many scholarships require letters of recommendation from your teacher, counselor or principal. When you request a letter of recommendation, please allow two weeks for this to be returned to you. Please also include a copy of your resume. Build your resume in LA Connect. SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA DEADLINE QUESTBRIDGE NATIONAL COLLEGE MATCH The QuestBridge National College Match connects outstanding students from lowincome backgrounds with admission and full four-year scholarships to 36 of the nation’s best colleges – scholarships worth over $200,000 each. WENDY’S HIGH SCHOOL HEISMAN AWARD $500 award for SENIOR who has at least a B average (85 GPA), participated in SPORTS while in high school, and has been a leader in school and in the community and serves as a role model to underclassmen. Online application: / October 6, 2015

AES ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP Amount of award: $500.00 Submit essay to: Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question: When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? MOREHEAD-CAIN SCHOLARS PROGRAM – UNC CHAPEL HILL Seniors interested in the 2014-15 Morehead-Cain Scholars Program must turn in a copy of their Resume to Mrs. Anderson by September 24th. Interested students must meet eligibility requirements: A student must be a competitive applicant to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and on track to graduate in the spring. The nominee must demonstrate the following Morehead-Cain Criteria: a) Scholarship b) Leadership c) Moral Force of Character and d) Physical Vigor. ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS The ENF awards $2.44 million annually in MVS (Most Valuable Student) scholarships to 500 high school seniors nationwide. Eligibility: Any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen may apply for an MVS scholarship. Applications will be judged on: Scholarship, Leadership and Financial Need. ELKS STUDENT OF THE MONTH SCHOLARSHIP Each month a $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding senior boy and senior girl who demonstrate exemplary standards. Students should be well-rounded with leadership, citizenship, service, and scholarship qualities. Students will compete against other high school students in Caddo-Bossier area. See Mrs. Moore for an application. Applications are being accepted for the months of Sept. and October. The Elks Lodge must receive applications by the 10th of each month

MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY Scholars Recognition Day is for high school seniors who have a composite ACT score of 29 or higher. This is an invitation only event and there is no charge for guests. You will hear from academic representatives, check out residence halls, see Sanderson Center and eat lunch alongside current MSU students. ROBINSON FILM CENTER Teen Film Council The Teen Film Council is a group of 20 students from Caddo and Bossier parishes, grades 10-12. They are looking for students who love movies. Some of our students want to pursue filmmaking as a career, and others who are just interested in learning more about film. Applications are available on C-Wing and the Counseling Department. THE LEVINE SCHOLARS PROGRAM – UNC CHARLOTTE Estimated $155,000 for out-of-state students The Levine Scholars Program seeks exceptional high school seniors who demonstrate a commitment to community service, hold an academic record that reflects a sustained passion for knowledge and possess a capacity for ethical leadership that elevates fellow students to a higher standard.
