Remember: When you apply to a college, you can apply for scholarships at the various colleges. There is a difference in TOPS Scholarships and University based scholarships. Colleges may have specific scholarships applicable to you. Also: Many scholarships require letters of recommendation from your teacher, counselor or principal. When you request a letter of recommendation, please allow two weeks for this to be returned to you. Please also include a copy of your resume. Build your resume in LA Connect. AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS B.S. DEGREE PROGRAM

Louisiana Tech University – Scholarships ($600 or $200 per quarter) will be awarded to the first 15 Agricultural Business (B.S.) degree program applicants accepted to LATech for 2014-15. See Mrs. Anderson for an application.

ELKS STUDENT OF THE MONTH SCHOLARSHIP

Each month a $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding senior boy and senior girl who demonstrate exemplary standards. Students should be well-rounded with leadership, citizenship, service, and scholarship qualities. Students will compete against other high school students in Caddo-Bossier area. See Mrs. Anderson or

Mrs. Moore for an application. Applications are accepted each month.

The Elks Lodge must receive applications by the 10th of each month

NSCDA ESSAY CONTEST

The contest is open to grades 11 and 12. Sponsored by the National Patriotic Services Committee of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. National Essay Contest: 2016 TOPIC: “2016 Marks the 240th Anniversary of the Virginia Declaration of Rights Penned by George Mason of Gunston Hall; Why Does This Historic Document Remain Relevant Today?” See Mrs. Anderson for contest rules and essay guidelines. BOSTON UNIVERSITY TRUSTEE SCHOLARSHIP

Boston University is pleased to announce the 41st annual Boston University Trustee Scholarship Competition. Trustee Scholars rank at the top of their classes and demonstrate exceptional leadership in their school and communities. Scholarship recipients are selected by a faculty committee from a competitive pool of applicants. The Trustee Scholarship covers full undergraduate tuition plus orientation and mandatory undergraduate student fees for four years. To be considered, students must submit their application for admission and Trustee Scholarship essay by Dec. 1.

MCNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

Each year McNeese State University awards nearly $9 million in scholarships and exemptions to qualified students. These scholarships/exemptions range in value from $400 to $24,000 per year. The priority deadline for Academic Scholarship Applications for the Fall 2016 semester is December 1, 2015. The scholarship selection process will begin soon after the application deadline, but they will continue to accept applications throughout the spring semester. ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The ENF awards $2.44 million annually in MVS (Most Valuable Student) scholarships to 500 high school seniors nationwide. Eligibility: Any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen may apply for an MVS scholarship. Applications will be judged on: Scholarship, Leadership and Financial Need.
