We will celebrate Founder’s Day on September 30, with lunch on the grounds. To help make this lunch

special, the Rhino Coffee truck will be here and Cane’s will be available for $6 for three chicken strips,

sauce, chips, and a drink. Pre-order your meal September 24- 29, in C-6 or at a table during lunch.


Are you interested in becoming a physician, scientist, or technologist? You may be interested in attending

the 2016 Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston from June 25-27, 2016 Congress of Future

Science and Technology Leaders in Boston on June 29, 30, and July 1, 2016. Each Congress is an

academic honors program. Students from all grade levels with a 3.5 GPA or higher are eligible. For more

information, go to for the Congress of Future Medical leaders and for the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders. An academic

scholarship based on financial need is available for one student. If you are interested in being nominated

and meet the eligibility criteria, see Mrs. Miles, the junior counselor, prior to October 8, 2015.


Sophomores and Juniors: A test prep workshop will be held Sunday, October 4, from 2-5 p.m. in

Magnet’s cafeteria. This workshop is designed to help increase scores on the PSAT and other

standardized tests. There are a limited number of spots available (30), and registration is $45–$15 an hour

for test prep strategies. If you are interested, register in C-6 with Mrs. McGuire. Checks should be made

payable to Caddo Magnet High School.


Caddo College and Career Fair is Wednesday, October 28, at the Shreveport Convention Center.

Sophomores, who are interested in going, please sign up in your English classes by September 25.


The Caddo District PTA Safety Drawing Program is open to all students who are affiliated with a

PTSA school. The theme is “Fire Safety.” The deadline for entries is October 8. For more details, please

see Mrs. Alexander and Mr. Bias for guidelines.


If you have participated in community service activities over the past year, please fill out an online

application at by November 3, 2015. By doing so, you qualify to be nominated

as Caddo Magnet High School’s top youth volunteer for state-level honors. The school’s honoree

will receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award, and will become eligible to win an unrestricted

award of $1000 or more, a beautifully engraved medallion, and an all-expense paid trip with a parent or

guardian to Washington, D.C., next spring for four days of special recognition events. In addition, Caddo

Magnet High School will recognize top applicants for their volunteer service by presenting them with

Prudential Spirit of Community Award certificates. If you have questions regarding Prudential Spirit of
