Congratulations to Ethan Dennis for receiving the 2015 Hendrix College Odyssey Book Award! This award is presented to outstanding high school juniors who have demonstrated passion, aptitude, and potential in one or more of the following areas: artistic creativity, global awareness, leadership development, research, and/or service to the world. Ethan was presented with a hardbound copy of Homer’s Odyssey.

On April 18, the Gymnastics Team level 5 boys, and girls levels 4, 5, and 8 won 1st place in the gymnastics competition in Baton Rouge. Congratulations! Congratulations to the Tennis Teams! The boys are Regional Champions, and the girls won 3rd Place. Boys Doubles Champions: Louis Guerin/Kash Koul; Boys Singles: Michael Le-1 st place, Scott Nguyen 2 nd place; Girls Singles: Mary North Jones-2 nd place These students will compete at the state competition in Monroe: Louis Guerin, Kash Koul, Nathan Lim, Kevin Le, Ankur Khanna, Josh Bae, Michael Le, Scott Nguyen, Mary North Jones, Sadie McGuire, and Alden Anderson.

Congratulations to the Caddo Magnet PTSA for receiving an Award of Excellence for the PTSA newsletter and the PTSA website!

Free physicals for all sports for the 2015-16 school year will be offered by Willis Knighton on Saturday, May 2, starting at 8 a.m. at the Portico Shopping Center across from WK Pierremont. The medical form must be completed and signed prior to going. All athletes must sign by April 28th .

On May 6, the seniors will have their last day of school. A Senior Honors Assembly will be held in the PAC, at 12:15 followed by a brief reception. The Senior Breakfast will be held on May 14, at Broadmoor Baptist Church. Letters with more detailed information were sent home on Friday, April 24, to the parents of seniors. The senior exam schedule has not changed. It is still classes 5th and 7th on Friday, May 1st; 4th and 6th on Monday, May 4th; 1st and 3rd on Tuesday, May 5th; and 2nd period on Wednesday, May 6th.
