Congratulations to Mary North Jones, Alexandra Prymek, Ethan Arbuckle, and Andrew Judlin for being selected as Caddo Magnet High School’s Boys and Girls State delegates. They will attend the American Legion’s 2016 Boys and Girls State program at Northwestern from June 26 – July 2.

 

Congratulations to the following students for placing in the Louisiana History Day Competition in New Orleans! Mary North Jones placed 1st in the Research Paper category, Maddie Tinsley placed 2nd in the Research Paper category, and Victoria Lowery placed 1st in the Performance category. These three students will represent Louisiana at the National History Day Competition in Washington, DC this summer. Emily Hanish won the E J Ourso Normandy Academy Scholarship, which is a $4000 trip to Normandy, France this summer to study WWII. Mrs. Karen Soileau won the Patricia Behring Teacher of the Year Award.

Congratulations to the TAP Vocal Band for winning 1st place and $1000 and the Beau Chant Choir for winning 3rd place and $400 at the Sing Out held at the Strand Theatre!

Congratulations to Amir Kaskas, Jonathan Higgins and Kelsey Hightower! These students placed first in Experimental Design at the State Science Olympiad Competition.

The JROTC Drill Team and Color Guard finished 12th in the nation as a team April 8-9, at the National Drill Championship in Louisville, KY. In the individual event category, the Color Guard had a 6th place finish, and the Drill Team had a 7th place finish in the inspection category. Congratulations!

The orchestra traveled to Fort Worth, Texas on April 8, to compete in the Director’s Choice Lone Star Music Festival. The orchestra brought back three trophies! The first one was for a Superior Stage Performance, the second for Outstanding in Class Orchestra (school size), and the third for Overall Outstanding Orchestra.
