Congratulations to Julia Ash, Josh Meyers, Meghana Rao, and Cameron Wallace for being selected as candidates for the 2016 Presidential Scholars Program!

 

The tennis team defeated Evangel with a score of 9-7 on Tuesday, February 2. Congratulations!

 

The Magnet wrestlers competed at the North Louisiana Regional Championships. Kane Anderson, Jack Le, and Armunti Turner made it into the consolation semifinals, and Eddie Williams placed third. Congratulations!

 

The North Louisiana Archery Regional Tournament was Saturday, February 6. Dakota Simpson placed 4th overall in the High School Boys Division, Armir Kaskas placed 7th, and Austin Toys placed 8th–out of 76 total boys in the region. Sinclair Lynn placed 2nd overall in the High School Girls Division, Rebecca Hutchinson placed 3rd, Misty Creamer placed 6th, Cara Armstrong placed 8th–out of 91 total girls in the region. Congratulations!

 

The TAP students performed their original play, Error 404 for the festival and received many compliments for their work. Liam Rivers-Kidd was elected Co-Chair of the student state board for 2016-2017. He will represent Caddo Magnet High School and Caddo Talented Arts along with the Louisiana student board at a variety of state festivals this year and the National Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska.

 

Six hundred Louisiana Students attended the International Thespian Society State Festival at Northwestern State University. Caddo Magnet Players took 62 students who attended workshops, viewed showcases, and competed in Individual Events and College Scholarships. Congratulations to these thespians!

Students may register for the 2016 Advanced Placement Exams February 22-March 4, through their AP classes. The fee for each exam is $92. Students who meet eligibility requirements may request a fee reduction. Students, who are first-time AP testers with the recommendation of their teacher, will not pay for one exam. Please contact Mrs. Snyder for more information.

 

CLEP exams will be administered in late April for these courses: English III/IV-H, Algebra II-H, Advanced Math, American history, French/German/Spanish, level 3, and Chemistry-H. Students who are registered for dual enrollment courses should not take the CLEP exam for the same courses. The cost for each exam is $80. Students who are interested will sign the sheet with their teachers beginning February 22.

 

Students on 2nd lunch shift should not enter A-wing during lunch because classes are in session. If your lunch is in the locker, pick it up at the end of 3rd hour and take it with you to your 4th period class.
