Vincent Huang qualified as a semifinalist in the USA Biology Olympiad Open Test. 5,848 students registered for the test in 48 states and 3 international schools. Out of that number, 633 scored well enough to advance to the semifinalist round. Only 34 states and 2 of the international schools had students that made it to this level. Vincent is one of three students from Louisiana.
Vincent will take another exam to determine if he will be one of the twenty finalists that will serve on the USA Olympiad Team at the international competition. Mrs. Ruby Blackwell coordinated the competition at Caddo Magnet, and was Vincent’s Biology teacher last year.
