Caddo Magnet High will start a School Supplies Drive for Thibodaux High School beginning now and ending Thursday, October 21.
Background: Thibodaux High School is in the Northern part of Lafourche Parish and has sustained wind and rain damage from Hurricane Ida but is happy to report reopening to students. Many of the students have lost everything they own since the winds removed the roof, and the rain caused mold in their homes. Many of the students still have no power and/or sleeping in tents/campsites. Most internet providers have not returned to the parish (no TV, no cable, no internet). Students need basic school supplies to start the new year. Any extra supplies will be shared with the parish.
School supplies needed include pens, pencils, notebook paper, 1, 3, and 5 subject notebooks, backpacks, and anything else you think would be helpful! Many of these students are starting from scratch and need all the supplies they can get.
To encourage donations, the class (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors) that brings in the most school supplies will receive a reward! Bring supplies to the PAC between now and October 21.
