Members of Mrs. McGuire’s English classes submitted poems in the DAR National Park’s Junior American Citizens Poetry Contest for 2016-17.

Savannah Badt’s poem, “A Thank You to the National Park Service”, won 1st place in the DAR Pelican Chapter level, 1st place at the DAR State Convention, and 2nd place in the DAR South Central Division.  Savannah’s poem will be entered in the National Contest for division winners this summer.
