Mardi Gras Assembly featured Carnival throws and Chinese dance


Recognizing both Fat Tuesday and the Chinese New Year (Th, Feb 19), the Mardi Gras Assembly was a protean event, said geography teacher Robert Trudeau.

Dance students of teacher Ekaterina Belyakova, ROTC cadets in drill, and a performance by drama students under teacher Patti Reeves began the rally.

A Chinese Lion Dance was presented by Matthew Pozniak and Jake Crusan. Accompanying on percussion was Bailey Stevenson and Brock Stevenson.

Video Journalism students presented a video which recognized members of the soccer, lacrosse, track and tennis teams as well as students in archery, music and golf.

Balloon games were produced by the SGA. Musical accompaniment for the event was performed by the Jazz Band under Dr. Thomas Stone. The event was produced by Bryan Gallant.
