CMHS Students Place at National History Day in New Orleans

Congratulations to the following individuals who won at Louisiana History Day on Saturday at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans:

Taylor Rosen – first place for her paper “Triumph and Tragedy- The Tuskegee Syphilis Study”

Jordan Fong and Mallory Tucker – first place in the group website category with “Hurricane Katrina: Finding the Triumph in the Tragedy”

Camerin Kimble, Sam Lau, Mai Tran, Shakera Ramisha, and Emma Armstrong – first place in the group exhibit category with “The Boat People: The tragic and triumphant stories of Vietnamese Refugees.” This group also won $300 and the Maritime History Award for their work.

All of these individuals will advance to the National History Day Competition at the University of Maryland College Park in June.
