Archery Team Does Well at the State Tourney, Dakota Simpson Wins $2500

Congratulations to Dakota Simpson for placing 1st in the 3D portion and 3rd in the Bullseye portion of the NASP ALAS State Archery Tournament held this weekend. Dakota received 2 trophies and $2500 in scholarships ($1250 for 3D and $1250 for Bullseye)! Dakota shot a 291 in 3D and a 292 in the Bullseye competition. There were 140 high school participants in the 3D competition and 118 high school males participants in the Bullseye portion.

Sinclair Lynn placed 6th and Cara Armstrong placed 8th in the female high school division of the bullseye portion (also out of 118 participants). Sinclair also placed 3rd in the 3D portion of the tournament out of 73 high school females.

Overall, CMHS placed 6th in the Bullseye competition shooting a team score of 3138.

This year over 1000 shooters attended the state competition and over $20,000 in scholarships were given out. The team is coached by Mrs. Julie Anderson.
