Five senior students were chosen to compete in the final round for the honor of serving as the Caddo Magnet High School Student of the Year for 2019-2020. The initial cut had a requirement of a 3.5 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale. The top 25% from this group were scored by teachers using a state supplied rubric. Scoring was very close with the top five students being Caroline Crittell, Sharon Li, Taylor Rosen, Slater Simpson, and Grace Sun. These five students had to write an essay and interview with a panel of faculty and non-faculty judges. The student with the highest score was chosen as the 2019-2020 Caddo Magnet High School Student of the Year. Needless to say, the scoring was very close.
The 2019-20 Caddo Parish Magnet High School Student of the Year is Grace Sun. She will submit a portfolio as she advances to the Caddo Parish High School Student of the Year competition. We wish her the best of luck!
