Rodrigue Art Contest Winners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>George Rodrigue is a famous artist from Louisiana that is best known for the &#8220;Blue Dog&#8221;.\u00a0 While Mr. Rodrigue passed away in 2013, the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts continues to thrive under the direction of his son Jacques Rodrigue.\u00a0 The Foundation supports an art scholarship contest each year for high school students in Louisiana.\u00a0 This year&#8217;s theme was Cosmos.<\/p>\n<p>Over 740 students submitted entries, and three Caddo Magnet students made it into the final round of the competition.\u00a0 Congratulations to <strong>Anna Claire Graham<\/strong> for placing 11th overall and winning a $1000 scholarship with her work titled &#8220;Storyteller&#8221;.\u00a0 Congratulations to <strong>Ben Leethy<\/strong> for placing 10th overall and winning a $1500 scholarship with his work titled &#8220;Unexplored&#8221;.\u00a0 Congratulations to <strong>Abbygail Nickels<\/strong> for placing 8th overall and winning a $2500 scholarship with her work titled &#8220;Neptune&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The students received their awards at a luncheon held in their honor at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel.\u00a0 Along with the scholarship prizes, they also received art supplies, a book, and a George Rodrigue print.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium
