The society was formed in 2006-07.\u00a0Students of Spanish IV\/V levels\u00a0were the initial members of this society. The society is a National Honor Society, and as such, it is not open to all students, only the ones meeting certain criteria, for it is a privilege and honor to belong to it. Students do not apply for membership; their membership is reviewed after completing the first semester of Spanish IV\/ AP Spanish Language and Culture.<\/p>\n
Students will be inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society based on the following requirements:<\/p>\n
\u2013 Be enrolled in Spanish IV\/AP Spanish Language and Culture or Spanish V\/AP Spanish Literature and Culture
\n\u2013 Have an \u201cA\u201d average in Spanish III and above
\n\u2013 Have a 3.75\/4.0 grade point average
\n\u2013 Character
\n\u2013 Leadership
\n\u2013 Seriousness of purpose
\n\u2013 Service\/Commitment to others (community service)
\n\u2013 Citizenship
\n\u2013 Cooperation
\n\u2013 Honesty
\n\u2013 No disciplinary referrals<\/p>\n
A student shall be removed for the following:
\n\u2013 Grade point average or grade in Spanish not maintained
\n\u2013 Misconduct<\/p>\n
