Mary Jane Malone Lecture Series

Each year, through the generosity of the Malone Family, CMHS brings a noted author to Caddo Magnet for the Mary Jane Malone Lecture Series. Begun in 1997 to memorialize the life of former student Mary Jane Malone, who had wished to become a writer, the lecture series has hosted twenty-one authors. All students attend the lecture held during the school day, and the school hosts an evening lecture that is free of charge and open to the public. Each year, students also have the opportunity to participate in a writing contest with the possibility of meeting the author in a small group session.

You will recognize our special guest from his highly rated PBS Special–The Seven Decisions. He appears consistently on CNN, FOX News, and ABC’s Good Morning America. He is the author of more than 25 books, including the New York Times bestsellers, The Noticer, and The Traveler’s Gift. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages.

He has been to the White House on several occasions and has spoken at the request of four different presidents of the United States.

He has been overseas numerous times at the request of our government. He works as a consultant to many of the Fortune 500 companies in addition to entire communities who have hired him to create a starting point for long-term success.

A New York Times reporter recently wrote, “Andy Andrews has quietly become one of the most influential people in America.”

Please welcome…Andy Andrews!

He will be here 10/10/19, and The Heart Mender will be a summer reading book for all.
