Spanish Club

The Spanish Club meets to talk about various subjects related to the Spanish language and culture. We play games such as Spanish Pictionary and Spanish hangman, learn dances, such as salsa, and of course bring food to celebrate different Hispanic culture.

The Spanish Club goes on one or more field trips to see a play, if available, such as Don Quijote or watch latino dancers perform. Monthly, the Spanish Club meets at a local Hispanic restaurant. Spanish students may join the club; however, non-Spanish students are welcomed. Members do service projects aimed to bring awareness of the Spanish culture to the community. Meetings are during Activity Period.

In addition, if Spanish III students meet certain strict requirements, those studenst may be considered for the National Spanish Honor Society. Magnet’s Chapter is Los Guerreros de la Luz (Warriors of Enlightenment); name based on Paulo Coelho’s book, El Alquimista. The Society started in 2006. Membership is considered after the end of the first semester of Spanish III.
