January 20, 2019……… Welcoming Presentation in our Performing Arts Center at 2:00 P.M.

                                                 followed by an Open House until 4:00 P.M.

February 1, 2019………………………………………………………….. Deadline for returning Applications

February 15, 2019……………………… Letters of Acceptance mailed to all qualified applicants

                                                                        (Parents need to return acceptance letter to Magnet and pick up a registration packet)

February 22, 2019……………………………………….. Deadline for returning Letters of Acceptance

March 2, 2019………………………………………… Placement Testing, 8:00 A.M., Performing Arts Center

                                                                                            (All students who will register for 2019-2020 must take placement tests)

March 2, 2019…………………………….. New Parent Registration Boot camp, 8:00 A.M., Cafeteria

                                                                            (Parents, please bring registration packet to the Boot camp)

March 4, 2019……………………… Make-up Placement Testing (for students who were absent on March 2nd )

                                                                 C8, 3:30 P.M., Testing will take approximately 2½ hours

March 4, 2019…………………………..Make-up Parent Registration Boot camp 3:30 P.M. Library

March 8, 2019……………………………………………………. Deadline for returning Registration Forms

The application (due on 2/1/19) must be accompanied by the official 2nd nine weeks report card (indicating a 2.5 or higher cumulative grade point average) and the most recent standardized test scores:  iLEAP – 730 or above on both math and ela, leap-basic or above on both math and ELA; Stanford, Terra Nova, IOWA, etc. –  student scores at or above the 50th percentile on both reading and math.

8th Grade students attending private schools must submit standardized test scores from the spring 2019 test administration once those results are received.

Applicants in grades 9 or 10 must attach a current high school transcript showing all grades through January 2019 and all EOC/LEAP 2025 test scores.

  • Because space is limited, students SHOULD respond no later than  February 22, 2019, if they plan on registering at Magnet to attend in the Fall of 2019.
  • All ACCEPTED STUDENTS are required to take magnet high placement tests in English and mathematics to help determine course phases and eligibility for certain courses.
  • The signature of a parent/guardian is required on the Application and Registration.
  • Important information about registration will be explained at the New Parent Registration Boot camp on March 2, 2019. Parents are encouraged to have the registration packet at the program.  If you need additional assistance, please attend the March 4TH Boot Camp.
